  • Twitter = Jail

I thought this story might prove interesting for anyone planning public demonstrations say against higher taxes, Wall Street bailouts and the like sometime in the future. Seems the FBI and others have a little issue about people using Twitter...

How Your Twitter Account Could Land You in Jail

Started and finished Zeitoun on Sunday.

It’s been a long time since I would call a book "exhilarating and thoroughly depressing."

Aside from the protests and exercise of free speech, wouldn't the time of you hippies or anarchists be better used to work on solving some of the energy problems that confront mankind? How about investing your time and money in nuclear power, hydro-electric dams, the up-grading of heavy oil, building more pipelines and port facilities, building more refineries, fracking shales that lock-up gas and oil, etc.

I only wish that I would have learned to be an oil driller or maybe a petroleum-geologist or a nuclear engineer at UC Berkeley, and not a hippie.

I only wish that I would have told the "Down with the Cornonation" bunch speaking on the Sproul Hall steps (at UC Berkeley) in 1969 to go back to Iran and f-off, and to take their 10th Century vision of the world and their religious fundamentalism with them.

My advice to you modern-day hippies is dispense with the protests against carbon and against progress, and to spend your time working toward solutions to problems now facing mankind. Maybe see how you might fit-in and work with the system, not against it.

My take is they seek to resist non-representative institutionalized power as much as protest the specific issue. So I think you just suggested they stop resisting The Man and help him. Isn't this the argument of Obama supporters?

Sure the carbon protestors should help Obama. And they should forget about their stupid issue of carbon, as if they don't expell CO2 themselves.

And Obama needs to pass a two-sentence healthcare bill: "NO-ONE SHALL BE DENIED ACCESS TO MEDICARE IN AMERICA ON THE GROUNDS OF AGE, PRE-EXISTING CONDITION, LEGAL STATUS IN AMERICA, EMPLOYMENT STATUS, NOR ON THE GROUND OF THEIR LANGUAGE SPOKEN." THIS BILL SHALL BE FUNDED BY A FEDERAL SALES TAX ON ALL PURCHASES EXCEPT FOR FOOD IN AMERICA."

          Simple!

Draw the line in the sand, and let the blue-dog Demos and the Republicans go to hell. Instead of attending climate-change meetings in Copenhagen, Obama should have been in Washington drawing the line on healthcare clearly in the sand.

That won't inflate Health-care Services in the USA........perhaps we can include free Jet Service for any Non-Citizens (any where in the world) that are in need of repairs?

            Yes We Can!

We have millions of people in California who are Mexican citizens and also are potential new U.S. citizens. They come to California to pick crops, some stay, some are legal, and some not. Do you mean to tell me that you are going to start this picking-away (pecking-away) at healthcare-reform on the ground of one's legal status in the country, employment history, contributions paid to Medicare, language spoke, age, pre-existing condition, views on abortion, views on end of life care, national origin, citizenship, language spoken, their U.S. state of residence having opted-out of the Obama plan, etc?

Obama's mistake was to try to talk with Republicans and blue-dog Demos. I would not give them the time of day.

I would draw the line in the sand and stick with that line. No compromise, period. No deals, period. No bribes for Nebraska, etc.

How many tens-of-thousands die each year in America because they don't have access to medical care? And to think that many churches would rather debate the abortion issue and not the real issue of life and death of PEOPLE, not fetuses.

I quit. And the debate should cease too. An up-or-down vote: yes or no on health-reform as written above. Then we shall see who the real pro-life people are.

                Revolution yes, but not here
(Reuters) - The U.S. State Department said on Tuesday it had contacted the social networking service Twitter to urge it to delay a planned upgrade that would have cut daytime service to Iranians who are disputing their election.
