I've said it many times before, but this will be the last time. I've either succeed or failed in my purpose in life, but I hope that I've made the correct impact in your life and helped you make decisions that you can live with, without feelings of regret. I tried to do as much as I can, and I think I've done that (as much as I can, that is).

Do you consider silver as good as gold? If you could buy $1,200 worth of silver today or gold, which would you buy and why?

I would buy silver and move it from one hiding spot to the other each day.

If you really believe it will get Mad Max, and for a long time at that, then silver is the way to go. You can't buy many little things with an American Eagle. Too much value. You want smaller denominations. I think this scenario is unlikely.

More likely:

Long term though, there will be a currency crisis. I think it's unavoidable. Gold will play a role in the new global monetary system. Ask yourself: Why are the Central Banks of Russia, India, China, Vietnam, Phillippines, etc... scrambling (although discreetly) for gold? How much silver are they buying?

You looking at silver from the wrong angle! Ask yourself now what can you buy now that is less than half the price it was in 1980?? Quick answer is silver. I am a fan of both Au and Ag. HOwever i have to say that when it gets ugly there will be a bigger move in silver than gold. Bottom line there just is not enough silver in the world period, and when everyone figures that out it is gonna get CRAZY!

I've always been 50/50% by dollar amount e.g. if I had $1200 it would be $600 gold and $600 silver.

Yes, that what I think, anyway. I don't claim to have complete information, nor know what actions TPTB may take and who knows what good THINKING does in this market, but YES that's what I think.

Only Honest Traders or Govt officials can tell us outsiders if this is imminent.
It can take along time to unfold, but then again nor have we seen the likes of 2008 crisis is many decades. Any thing is possible but people looking at comex inventory can give the best info.
