  • World rates are on the UP!

Been expecting this since the price of fuel jumped 18 months ago. The ECB went to 4% today with "Room for higher rates" (in other words expect them). BOE is going to go another .25% very soon and might hit 6% by year end.

Kids today think 5% is tough, Bloody Hell when i left school rates were 11%!..........They won't know what's hit them!

I noticed rates all over the World going up, as much spin and mis-counting of inflation can't hide the fact that we are going to see a spike with in the next year.

Factor in US housing and a "1980" type recession is i think a "Slam dunk".

From that?..............the $ will start its slide.

    Tough times ahead.

The bank has pared the overnight rate at 16 straight meetings since September 2005. Policy makers have carried out cuts of at least half a point at 12 of those meetings with quarter-point reductions at its three first meetings of 2007.

As i keep saying, i am just layman, but Bloody Hell FIRE, I knew what would happen 18 Months ago. Fuel prices drive inflation, thus i knew rate would have to go higher if you want to fight inflation.

Oh I see a "Fire fight" going on with in the ECB, The Germans want to fight inflation, the French which to let it rip as long as they get growth.

If i were the Germans i "Explain" to the French that last time Germany let her guard down on inflation was in the 20's/30's................not long after Germany went on a bit of "Tour" of Euroland!
