Well, your diligent news hound found some good stories that I just had to share. You know, the kind of stories that make you feel all warm and fuzzy but leave you with the gnawing sensation that you've been thoroughly screwed.
First, we look at stimulus spending. Yes, folks. We can chalk up another brilliant and successful government spending program. Seems that the billions and billions that have been spent to create "green" jobs have done just exactly that. Except those jobs have been created someplace else, particularly China and Europe. The great offshoring model is again rearing its handsome head: not only do you get to lose your job to cheaper foreign labor courtesy of the master Asian currency manipulators but now all those large corporate interests are more than happy to take your tax dollars while sending all the work off shore. Makes you feel real warm deep down inside to be an American these days. Doesn't it?
New Wind Farms in the U.S. Do Not Bring Jobs
Meanwhile in another story, China teaches us that the whole globalization thing was a good idea after all and was not just some scheme cooked up by the large corporate interests to crush the wages of middle class workers via labor arbitrage. After all, we were going to have a "knowledge" economy. Right? Meanwhile, we were going to open new markets for American goods and services. How's that whole thing working out now?

Okay, maybe not so good.
Well, at least our fearless business leaders are at the helm to help guide our economy through these dark times. A stern gaze fixed on the horizon to find that safe harbor for their company and fellow employees. Yes, folks. Our brave corporate leaders possess the strength, experience, and temerity to pull us through. Never fear. They will remain steadfast at their posts.
