mega... my fine beer drinking, fish & chips eating friend. we don't go 'on the dole' here. we seek temporary refuge from the vicissitudes of our free market economy... we take a few dollars with the full intent of seeking gainful employment at the soonest opportunity, we don't hang out in clubs doing drugs & breaking into houses to supplement the bribes our oligarchs pay out to us... our own money... btw. or is it china's. who knows?

Apparently, at the moment, it's Mega's money according to FRED...

The question that comes to mind is --"Where is a bankrupt country like the UK getting the money to buy the US Treasuries?"

the Fed and the BoE are playing a shell game!

My theory is they're borrowing it from the Chinese and charging a fee for being the middleman...it's the only way a finance dependent economy like London [and let's face it, the London economy IS the UK economy] knows how to make any money...

It appears that the UK is not in a much better state

MORE than 200,000 out-of-work builders are chasing just 300 jobs, shock new figures reveal.

The desperate scramble for work exposes the scale of the crisis in Britain's battered construction industry.

Official figures show there are currently 210,260 people on the dole and looking for construction jobs.

But the official JobcentrePlus website lists just 302 construction vacancies across the WHOLE of Britain.

The huge gulf between the number of jobseekers and posts available is exposed today by the Liberal Democrats.

They said the problem has been fuelled by the collapse of hundreds of building firms.

A total of 2,702 companies went bust in 2008, according to the most recent figures.

And speaking of China - "The Heartbreaking Beijing Slums That Are Filled With Young College Graduates"

China's booming economy can't keep up with its demographic crisis, as millions of new college graduates are unable to find good jobs.

Graduates live by the thousands in "intellectual slums" on the outskirts of Beijing, according to France 24.

Many residents are stuck in the slums, burdened with heavy student loans and a saturated job market.

The "problem" in this jurisdiction, as so many others, was fuelled by a global property bubble...the origins of which we are all now intimately familier with...

Yeah, this is the real con game going on which I first saw mentioned on MISH. The total number of people available for work has been falling whilst we know that the labour market is growing by a minimum of 100K a month. The BLS boys and girls sure know how to play the game!

Thank goodness we have sites like Shadowstats to give us some insight into the real stats.
