I'm very skeptical of the Canada numbers & am hoping someone can shed some light
I posted I think 3 or 4 years on iTulip that Toronto prices had yet to beat the late 80s prices: Canada did have a pretty mad housing price increase in the late 80s - a bubble that burst late 89 or early 1990,
A couple of months after I posted that, though (I think coincident with the $6 million condo), prices clearly had reached a new blow-off high.
That earlier Canada wide bubble burst in 1990 but if i remember correctly Vancouver real estate was a bit protected for a while by "Hong Kong money fleeing the Chinese" trade just prior to the hand off to China
