I believe that Yahoo was using the price change in the numerator, and the day's starting interest rate in the denominator. It appears they have corrected it, as Jim suggested:

    10 Yr Bond 3.66 -0.48 -1.29%
    30 Yr Bond 4.54 -0.55 -1.20%

I think it might be fairer to say that you should check your math.

The numbers might be correct but if the 30 was down 12% then it would have had to have started at 5.14 and I dont think the 30 has been over 5 for a while. Correct me if I am wrong but I have been following it recently.

Cindy, should I check the "copy" or "paste" portion of my math first?

You might also want to check Jim's copy and paste too in this section as he says the same response to your perceived intelligent question. I have another name for it.

I do not believe so -- such things tend to work against the democrats and not for them -- and politicians may be venal, but tend not to be stupid. They may be constrained in the directions in which they can go.

Obama was already being pressured by both sides of the democratic party -- and Coakley's loss may be the trigger to change direction.
