Just when you think American triumphalism is looking a little long in the tooth, those helpful folks at the NYT (itself being held together by band aids and glue) come forward to pat Haiti on the head.

I'm particularly taken with Squatters Rights. Sounds like a prescription for Michigan. And how about reforming those corrupt systems a few blocks down the road in Lower Manhattan?

in 5 years haiti will be where it was before the earthquake.

Its naive to think anything will get done with the massive UN and international bureaucracy.

We already have Squatter's Rights in New York City. It's called Rent Stabilization.
