  • GLOBAL WARMING alert - Britain facing one of the coldest winters in 100 years

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/topics/we...s-predict.html

    It gets worse:

It is time to act. Those coal fired power plants need to be shut down.

It may get warmer soon, apparently...

Climate could warm to record levels in 2010

Id sooner trust Cramer on investments than the stupid MET office on climate forecasts.

        Or this:

        http://www.dailyexpress.co.uk/posts/view/149760

SHIVERING Britain faces the prospect of gas supply shortages as the worst cold spell in 30 years keeps a stranglehold on the country.
The National Grid yesterday issued only its *second-ever warning that demand for energy is threatening to outstrip available supplies unless industry quickly slashes its consumption and more gas is rushed in from abroad.
Now maybe my UNG investment will pay off! Only down about 4% today.

Global warming dumped about a foot and a half of snow here in Oklahoma the day before Christmas. If only weather were climate, we'd have enjoyed a nice mild winter...

"If only weather were climate" indicates that maybe you understand how ridiculous this thread is. Anyone who has spent any time studying this issue knows that global climate change involves extreme weather, not necessarily warm weather.

Glad you had a white Christmas!

              If's....buts....maybes.....who gives a rats a**.

The climate changes. If it gets too cold, we'll adapt or die. If it gets to hot, we'll adapt or die. It was ever thus.

Now hand over your carbon taxes.

It is amusing that anytime a hurricane strikes, or a drought occurs, or a record high temperature is recorded, it is AGW.

Anytime any other occurrence happens, it is 'Weather, not Climate'.

While in general I do agree that Weather is not Climate, at the same time the double standard is ridiculous.

And also at the same time, the ongoing IPCC projections failing to match reality still fails to elicit comment.

And the ongoing non-warming trend for 11 years, or 8 years, or 15 years - at what point does it become statistically significant?

The conditions include non use of data time sequences intended to misrepresent.

Here's the same data presented by UAH and RSS and showing the correlation of both with surface temperature measurements.

And here's the surface temperatures going back to 1880.

The so called "non-warming trend" isn't even a brief pause in a very steep up trend. Misusing data time sequences doesn't work in Economics (as EJ points out) and it certainly doesn't work in real science.

silly you, dont you know it no longer is global warming, the new term is climate change. That will make sure everything weather phenomena is man made!

I dont remember if it was 2 or 3 years ago but when their was many hurricanes during one particular year some global warming scientist came out and said the amount of hurricanes came in sets of years where you have more than usual or less than usual and the current year of high hurricanes was not due to global warming(and they added that the current trend was about to reach it end). Flash forward a couple months or less and you saw on the news the high amount of hurricanes being blamed on global warming, lol.

Off course last year (which to me seemed to have fewer hurricanes) global warming wasn't blamed for that, lol...

                            Ha Ha,

I wonder if these climate change retards are simply reformed religious retards, because any extreme weather event used to be "God's punishment" and so we'd better burn another witch this weekend.

Using Wikipedia to support the AGW fraudsters: too ironic.
