Ratigan is a true hero, he gets it, I have my TV on timer even if I am not there to watch, just to give him the ratings to keep going. I suggest everyone do the same for any beacons of light they see in any media form (Matt Taibbi) or political form (Grayson, Ron Paul) Support these guys whole heartedly. The truth is our only ticket out of this mess, and the few, the proud, need to stand up and take back this country.

Pull your money out of big banks and their credit card businesses and put it into small local banks and their credit/debit cards.

although there is little that one can actually do, what I can do - I do

- I call my congress person/senator on a regular basis - although they totally ignore their representatives
- I contribute whatever I can to candidates who are aware of what is going on even though I am not in their district (Dr. Paul, Rand Paul, Schiff, Grayson, Campaign for Liberty, others)
- I try to get my family and friends informed of what is really going on and where this is probably going to end, but very, very few listen
- I try to protect whatever assets I have for the very hard times to come

sorry for the snarky original post - sometimes, when I see something like that on tv or youtube - it just gets me going.

open for any other suggestions as to how to try to effect peaceful/non-violent change here

The fact of the matter is that "peaceful/non-violent change" is nothing more than a fantasy.

Unfettered greed coupled with a total desire for control is a deadly and formidable adversary. Something the typical human being has no concept or comprehension about.

We are heading for the proverbial "interesting times", with no clue as to how much blood will be on the streets.

I would add:

Pull your money out of big banks and their credit card businesses and put it into small local banks and their credit/debit cards.

Just be careful as smaller banks have been squeezed out of the safest loans ie SFR by FHA and Multifamily by FHA as well their book are primarily Commercial Office, Retail and Construction. All very risky assets today. And as we all know they do not get bailed out they just get closed 100+ so far this year. I know that you get FDIC insurance but your assets might be frozen untill the paperwork comes through.

I have suggested a 'wilcat' strike so to say -which consists of a sudden withdrawal of all savings/401Ks etc in a coordinated way. Even a small sample size of people say 100,000 removing say an average of $30,000 each

3,000,000,000 and multiply that by the fractional reserve percentage (if banks hold say 7% -in actuality far less) - you are talking about removing anywhere from 30,000,000,000 to 300,000,000,000 from the banksters overnite.

These guys would sell every lobbyist, mercedes and vacation home they own to any mob -or peoples representatives -to have things back to status quo. Which would be -we give them money and they charge us interest and fees for holding our money - and never ask any questions and never withdraw it -so they can then finance government debt.

It is a solution that is not illegal and if done with enough people -would strike the right balance between a major bank run and a very serious protest -that is non-violent and perfectly legal- and most importantly morally justifiable.
