Drugs money worth billions of dollars kept the financial system afloat at the height of the global crisis, the United Nations' drugs and crime tsar has told the Observer.

Kind of reminds me of Hudson's tales about the early 70s where this money was sought out intentionally in order to prop the dollar. I'll have to search through to find it.

We have a war economy and we have a drug economy. Both have become essential underpinnings of the racket will call our Economy.

Do you mean the illegal drugs industry? I'm sure the legal drugs industry is much bigger, although I may be wrong.

How big is the world pot and coke market? 5 billion, 10 billion, 100 billion? I can understand these little markets underpinning the black operations of the secret service, but underpinning the world economy?

I'd say it is the bigger cash cows, namely oil/gas and the medical cartels which are underpinning the financial markets (supporting the US economy).

Anything you have to consume to live is what "underpins" our economy. I bet as well that if you look at these essential consumable markets you'll find it owned by the corporations, or that the corporations are making headway to 100% own it (or distribute it) in the near future. Everything else is excess glitter and that is what us plebs are left to make businesses out of.

Just been thinking that if you can form a business which taps into any of the "corporations of these essentials" as a consumer, then you'll be sucking from the teet and have it good I think. They'll then buy you out in the future for a mint. Nice!
