It looks like this poll was taken in the USA, a deeply religious nation compared to nations in Europe and East-Asia. Waves of religious-awakening (called revivals) are recurrent throughout American history.
Sadly, religious fervour (and trust in blind faith) is part of the reason why America got into this economic mess in the first place. The Americans thought that [G]od had chosen them to be exempt from the laws of economics. Thus we have in America a faith-based currency, "In God we Trust," the deeply-held belief that deficits don't count, and the notion (witness the words of Larry Kudlow on CNBC) that "America always comes back stronger than ever."Last edited by Starving Steve; December 12, 2009, 05:12 PM.
