    Re: Sarah's Coming to Town

I'll vote for anybody that did not come from an ivy league school, is a self made man or woman with above average intelligence with common sense about how to get things done.

And for my Liberal friends: fliped42 has just pointed it out for you: for all your dislike of and disagreement with Sarah Palin, how is it that you can't - or won't - see the nearly identical situation with Barry Obama?
        Raz,
You're quite right. You did say "situation" which I didn't represent exactly as you intended when I said you found Palin identical to Obama.

I also think you're substantially correct when you say Obama is leading his followers back into the wilderness, just as you see Palin doing hers. But I wouldn't agree that Obama's supporters don't notice it. You may not notice them noticing it. This is because they are busy debunking an even crazier notion--that Palin represents some kind of answer.

Obama's handling of that subject reeks of mendacity, and for expecting me to swallow such a monumental lie Barack Obama is richly deserving of my contempt.

Don't be so consumed with hate for George W. Dumbass that you think anyone is better. Anyone is not.

Brilliant? Are you kidding me? Brilliant based on what? His books? Beating Hillary Clinton and John McCrazy? Being articulate doesn't make one brilliant. Not having to answer tough questions because the media drools and fawns and slobbers all over you doesn't make one brilliant.

"Big O" is probably going to hand this country back to the NeoCon Repukelicans because he's so "brilliant" in (a) allowing Pelosi the Idiot to craft and draft his healthcare legislation, and (b) he's surrounded himself with Wall Street criminals and Lunatic Leftists.
(Like a woman who looks to Chairman Mao for "inspiration". :eek

He ain't looking too good in the polls and I don't see anything about this guy or his team that shows me they're smart enough to figure it out, let alone pull it out. The attacks on Fox News were about as dumb as a sack of rocks.
You're getting off a pretty good rant there yourself, Raz. Let's just say we disagree. For instance, I listened to the "God Damn America" speech that former Vietnam Marine medic Rev. Wright gave and thought it made pretty good sense--if you look at it from the point of view of perhaps the majority of the world's population, instead of the patriotism-blinded, America-is-always-right viewpoint of our team.

Being articulate requires intelligence. It demonstrates intelligence to make the fine distinctions that articulation requires. Articulation may not always be sensibly used, but it's a pretty good base-level intelligence test. Obama passes it with flying colors. Bush and Palin bite the linguistic dust.

Obama rose up of mixed race from a single-parent family, went to Harvard and excelled there, wrote his own books instead of relying on ghostwriters unlike:
            Palin and that crack team of journalists who worked on the book with her: Lynn Vincent, Meg Stapleton and Ivy Frye;

and became the first black to win the Presidency (and by a voting process that was probably stacked against him). Incredible achievements. Give the man his due.

I agree with you about his sellout to Wall Street, but he clearly isn't listening to any lunatic leftists....a lot of whom can be found right here on iTulip making some very good arguments indeed.

Anyone who has been reading my posts over the past six months to a year knows that I certainly don't believe
that the United States is always right.

Being articulate does require intelligence - but not enough to deserve an assessment of "brilliant". Bush gets an F-; Palin gets a C.

I'll give Obama his due: he's one slick campaigner. Beyond that he's just another sell-out. And contrary to your assertion about his "incredible achievement" in being the first black to be elected to the presidency under "a voting process that was probably stacked against him" - I could not possibly disagree more. Had he not been black he would likely not be president - Hillary would.

While I trade disagreements with plenty of Liberals on iTulip I've only encountered one who
might fall into the category of Lunatic Leftist. So far you don't fit that bill.

Just don't ever tell me that you sometimes find "inspiration" from the writings of Chairman Mao!:p

I'm not so sure of that. A google search for "obama ghostwriter' brings up such speculations as Who Wrote Dreams From My Father?. My conclusion is that Bill Ayers wrote more of Obama's book than Obama did.

No one gets to the top of the ticket without some serious backing. Or do you really believe a grass roots group seizes the RNC? She has handlers and backers. Who are they? I can't imagine the PWTB being very dissatisfied with Obama. He has done everything and more for them. In fact, Palin would seem to be the unelectable straw man antagonist for Obama. Vote Obama or else! Get the base all hot and bothered all the while her base is stuck at 40%. Where as a Romney type would be a real threat. That or a third candidate.

                      Charming analysis, Mango.

I look at it from the viewpoint of one who seeks to know the truth and happens to be an American. I'm not blinded by patriotism because I opposed the invasion of Iraq from Day-1. Neither am I blinded to the radical, hate-filled venom spewing forth from the mouth of this "Christian Minister".

I must be looking at all of this in the wrong way so please help me to understand by taking time to analyze these statements as well:

“The government lied about inventing the HIV virus as a means of genocide against people of color. The government lied.” (September 2001)

"Fact number one: We've got more black men in prison than there are in college... Fact number two: Racism is how this country was founded and how this country is still run! ...We are deeply involved in the importing of drugs, the exporting of guns and the training of professional KILLERS. . . . We believe in white supremacy and black inferiority and believe it more than we believe in God. . . . We conducted radiation experiments on our own people. . . . We care nothing about human life if the ends justify the means!" The crowd whoops and amens as Wright builds to his climax: "And. And. And! GAWD! Has GOT! To be SICK! OF THIS SHIT!" (July 2006)

(Fact number one, I suppose, means that the crimes of black men should simply be ignored; "Fact" number two is a puzzle to me so I really need your instruction here; Who is the "we"? Individual drug users? The US Government? I don't believe in White Supremacy, so is he referring to you? FRED? EJ?; "We" care nothing about human life if the end justifies the means" must be a self-indictment since since the "church" Jeremiah Wright was ordained in supports the procured murder of pre-born humans in order for the mother to avoid the inconvenience of pregnancy, an offence that the Orthodox and catholic Church condemned as a crime and mortal sin from it's very inception, excommunicating those members involved until their deathbeds; "And! GAWD! Has GOT To be SICK! OF THIS SHIT!" Fine and appropriate language for a Christian sermon; Christ used such language all the time.:rolleyes

David Squires wrote in today’s (June 10, 2009) Newport News, Virginia Daily News:
                      • Asked if he had spoken to the president, Wright said: “Them Jews aren’t going to let him talk to me. I told my baby daughter, that he’ll talk to me in five years when he’s a lame duck, or in eight years when he’s out of office. …
“They will not let him to talk to somebody who calls a spade what it is…. I said from the beginning: He’s a politician; I’m a pastor. He’s got to do what politicians do.”

Wright also said Obama should have sent a U.S. delegation to the World Conference on Racism held recently in Geneva, Switzerland, but that the president did not do so for fear of offending Jews and Israel.

Sounds at least as bad as "A Photo that needs No Caption", wouldn't you say?
