All his boo-hooing doesn't help anything. There are lots of opportunities these days, and that guy is sitting in his car making a chicken little video as he tries to handle his own depression. I was hoping for a good video, Mega, but that one wasn't.

Re: Be warned, it is about to start!
I understand the guy's anxiety. I lived a lot of years in close proximity to the poor/working poor, very high crime rate, lots of violence, etc. I wasn't far from being poor myself, and was on the receiving end of crime several times. There were a lot of poor, near-poor, crime-and-violence prone people in this country before this crisis began. iTulipers who have not lived in such a way that it was part of their daily existence should count their blessings.
Now things have gotten worse economically, to a certain degree. I don't doubt there will be some escalation in crimes committed. Hard criminals may become harder, and some borderline types may cross over into more frequent crime.
No one should doubt that there are a LOT of crime-prone people in this country. They exist, believe me.
I remember reading something once about "socialism", and how it has expressed in various countries. The salient point was, the kind of socialism you get will be an expression of the culture you are from. Thus, how it expresses in, say, Sweden will be 'with Swedish characteristics', as opposed to, say, Russia.
The point is, whatever happens in the U.S. will be 'with American characteristics'. When the Czechs got a lot poorer, they acted like Czechs. When Americans get poorer, they will act like Americans. And America has a lot of crime and violence problems to begin with.
I hardly anticipate the broad, anarchistic apocalypse the guy in the video fears. But to lesser degrees there is probably legitimacy to his fears. I predict an incremental increase in crime and violence. This will be tragic for many on the receiving end of crime, less so for those better insulated. I wouldn't want to be living where I used to live, and count my blessings I live where I do now.

Re: Be warned, it is about to start!
While I do think it was a bit dramatic I think the "haves" are being extremely arrogant considering their ass was pulled from the fire last fall. Your comment strikes me as such. Does this critique apply to you specifically. No, it usually doesn't but moral hazard is moral hazard and if you have money that tar-baby is yours now. That is the true price of the "bail out". I have not cared for the American culture for about 15 years. I grew up in the mid-west. I think we have created a generation of brats that will not behave well when challenged. However, I think what the kid is saying is pretty accurate delivered in a silly apocalyptic kind of way. But what would you expect from the video game/credit card generation? There are many good people out here working the ass off for a few bucks an hour. I suggest all out there with access to group subsidized health insurance, unemployment benefit security, and a government PROTECTED retirement (yes that includes Wall Street and 401k) to take time to develop some perspective and understanding.

Somebody needs to up the meds or stay off the Internet.
I feel sorry for that video guy, scared, demotivated, bordering on delusional and clearly having thought himself in the corner (with only one scenario seen as possible).
I hope he goes out, exercises, meets friends, stays off the doom-and-gloom sites and just lives. Otherwise life will go by.

Re: Be warned, it is about to start!
Here is what I know:
1. 5 of 9 city council members in Detroit have concealed carry permits - ie when things get bad in inner cities, even powers that be feel threatened (one can google the story.)
2. There are ~90 guns for every 100 people in the US; by way of comparison, that ratio is ~35-40 in Iraq.
3. 1 in 8 Americans are on food stamps.
How does this info translate to investing & the Ka-Poom thesis?
One has to believe the gov't is aware of my points #2 & #3 above; so cutting gov't spending to support the dollar would be effectively making a decision to starve poor people...some of whom are armed...it probably won't happen.
IMO, this info increases the likelihood that the gov't will re-up for either Stimulus 2.0 or QE 2.0 or some combination of the two...which should bring us one step closer to the inflationary "Poom" of dollar debasement...

Re: Be warned, it is about to start!
of course they will continue stimulus 2.0, 3.0 ad infinitum.
It's what they do. Next up is a "jobs" program. Then extending unemployment more. Then something to let people tap into their investment retirement plan to fund more and more things like buying houses and cars...then rebates (free money), this is what they LIVE for. It increases people's dependence upon government. They LOVE it.

Oh, heavens yes. Guns for everyone! Not that I'm complaining. With the world's most powerful military unable to subdue and conquer Afghanistan's many goat herder, there is no way on God's green earth that the civil authorities in America will ever be able to manage or effectively respond to widespread social disorder.
Mass demonstrations, the occasional potshot at police and Blackwater security contractors, riots, etc. It will not end well if things go in that direction.
