Sell $2 TRILLION on new debt
Sell $2 Trillion in bonds that are due
Thus $4 Trillion more $ ????????

I think the moment of truth for the UK £ will come when the Germanys lift Euro rates.......@ that second it becomes clear that UK can NOT follow...........Now i am sure the UK £ is under protection by other CB's.....but it might start of the end of said protection.

It would be unintentionally funny if the Germans were to yet again cause a big drop in the Pound. The last Sterling rout during the black Wednesday of 1992 was actually a big non-event in the larger context of what it did to the economy.
