It's not that deep; when us trap shooters are set and ready for a new target, we shout "Pull!" to tell the target thrower to launch a clay pigeon.

Given the thread subject, when Jtabeb used PULL, i had to post a trap shooting image to point out the hillarious double entendre. I did a quick Google for a suitable image, and this retro image (titled "PULL!", not shown) tickled my fancy. I'm still laughing at the stupid pun.

And what great hardware in that image. I believe the car is a 1968 Oldsmobile Toronado with a 455 Rocket V-8 (that's a 7.5 litre to you kids) and looks like she's shooting a Remington 870 shotgun (the very gun I shoot most)

I think that it's a Remington 1100. If you look real close, you can see that the forearm carries all the way back to the chamber and is not a pump.

In reference to the picture all I can say is "God Bless America!" ;)

And for what it's worth, IMHO the Remington 870 may be the most reliable firearm in the world. It always goes "bang". No offense intended to the illustrious Mr. Kalishnikov and his marvelous assault rifle.

You folks out there looking for an unusual alternative investment idea: Mr. Kalishnikov is still alive at 90. Get him to sign a few AK-47's for you. I'd think they would be worth a bundle in a few years.

Watch out folks. Our great friends over at the Vampire Squid have another great investment idea besides carbon credits markets and high frequency trading. It's lead. Yes, lead. With gold and silver going through the roof, the Goldman folks are piling into lead via the purchase of handguns and ammo all under the guise of "personal protection." Seems J6P is a tad miffed about the oversized bonuses courtesy of the American taxpayer as well as the billions made in Fed approved market manipulation as part of the government's back door attempt to support equities. As all iTulipers are aware, the whole personal safety issue is likely just another ruse to allow the GS folks to frontrun and corner another commodities sector.:p

When the next big downturn arrives, there will be an event. Some nutcase is going to take revenge against perceived injustice. It won't be the first time the Financial Elite has gone too far and paid the price for their arrogance.

My preference is justice through political action. But some will be carried away by their emotions.

I hope your wrong but it has happened before. September 16, 1920 a bomb went off adjacent to 23 Wall St. and killed 38 people. The facade of the building remains damaged to this day. I'm sure the people who suffered were "commoners" and not "elites".
