  • All you Zombies.

As Mike would say: "Bloody good read":

ALL YOU ZOMBIES (<-- Article here)

With a National Debt projected to reach $25 trillion by 2019, a government that has promised Boomers $100 trillion more than it can deliver, the end of the cheap oil age, looming resource wars, and nuclear proliferation, it is hard to fathom a happy ending to this Crisis. We appear to be hurtling towards the abyss and no one in charge seems capable of averting disaster.

    Re: All you Zombies.

Thanks, Largo, for posting this. I read it last night and found it depressingly accurate. The Fourth Wave segment is frightening.

While I'm not a Libertarian I do share some of their views.
The financial crisis of 1929-1932 was due to the gross excesses of unregulated banking and Laissez Faire Capitalism; our present crisis is the result of deregulated banking and Keynsian Pseudo-Capitalism. Both periods had their white-collar criminals, but this time they are inside the government as well as outside! That is the classic "Banana Republic", making EJ's new term for the US Dollar ("Bonar") highly appropriate.

If we don't get a viable Third Party I don't see anyway to avoid collapse.
And even that may not do it at this late stage.

The lives of washed up rock stars, drugged out TV personalities, vapid housewives, and brainless house flippers passes for entertainment in today’s society. Getting rich by any means necessary has been glorified
      hold that thought....

ahhhh but "reality" tv is getting real................god knows we need the ratings........keep rolling...............

'Real Housewives of Orange County': Making ends meet

The original Housewives are back, and much has changed for the busty ladies of Coto de Caza. Last week's season premiere (still can't believe that this is the fifth season!) showed us that Tamra and Simon are possibly going broke. Jeana ... well, she's closer than they are. Lynne is trying to keep her family afloat with those gaudy cuff contraptions. Gretchen ... well, she spends her days in her garage with her new manfriend, Slade. And Vicki, our favorite Wahoo! gal, is still living the life of luxury.

Agree. A bloody good read. Although, I will concede he's preaching to the choir in my case.

The biggest quandary I have faced is deciding what I am supposed to be doing about it. I know about the problem, but I am not actively doing anything to solve it. And that makes me just as bad as the people that have no clue about it, if not moreso. But I am at a loss as to what I could reasonably do.

'Real Housewives of Orange County': Making ends meet

              ...

              something for the historians
Tamra told Vicki over lunch that Simon is getting his income solely from selling tequila. They pay $2,000 a month in property taxes alone on their home and are thinking of moving. Meanwhile, with the Orange County real estate market drying up, so has Jeana's lavish lifestyle. She's sold watches, cars and some art -- anything to make ends meet. And she and daughter Kara, who now waits tables to pay for her apartment, have mostly ditched the high-end department stores for H&M discount shopping sessions. Total damage done in the shopping fete seen in this week's episode? Just under $200. A sizable difference than what we saw from Kim of the "Real Housewives of Atlanta" on her shopping sprees. How things have changed for the ladies. Gretchen even had a garage sale!

I like your post. I feel like Obama got to #4 then the wheels fell off. I can't figure out exactly why the wheels fell off, but fall off they most certainly did.
