The whole point is that these are supposed to be disinterested scientists.
When there is clear proof that they are not - well - that should matter.
A private firm has as its goal dominance over other firms. Individuals within an organization fighting for dominance is also perfectly understandable.
Much of the above behavior is understandable if not moral in the context of a private company, but it is completely inappropriate for those supposedly engaged in pure research and putting out objective information.
Furthermore the emails also clearly point toward a concerted effort to bend the supposedly sacrosanct peer review process to the cabal's own ends.
Is that acceptable also?
As I noted in the Rant 'N Rave thread - much of the allegations made by the 'deniers' have been substantiated in these emails.
