Get well Mega. I will miss the articles in the meantime. One thing that always helps with me is any sort of fast-paced & mindless manual labor.

Crap! Damm! Another good news filter burns out. Huge timer saver.

This Mega dude posted links to a good amount of key stories I need to follow each week, used to have to browse a dozen or so sites.

oh well, move iTulip back to the once monthly list.

            Damm!

"Don't let it break you down" by Graham Parker

Now don't get bent out of shape, don't start tearing out your hair

One a sweet little angel, that stuff's nowhere

When the bombs go off on Oxford Street and the kids beat up old people

It's just a soundtrack for your life it's just everyday evil

Don't let it break you down Don't let it break you down
Don't let it break you down

Some people are in charge of pens that shouldn't be in charge of brooms
They have the nerve to rip up a man's life in a paragraph or two
And the aeroplanes get hijacked and all the Americans get killed
And the children are addicted to a sugar-coated pill

Well you get sent out on the racetrack, you get spurs dug in your cheeks
You'll see a winning post in the distance that you'll never reach
And there's a hole in the atmosphere gets bigger every time you spray your hair
And someone's drilling down through the earth just to see what's there

                      Feel Better Soon!

Feel better soon, Mega. I'll miss your posts and your presence here. Depression is an illness just like any other that needs treatment. Your brain is an organ just like the kidneys or heart. It can get chemically out of whack through no fault of your own. You can "think and act" your way out of situational depression, but clinical depression needs treatment just like diabetes or a heart condition.

I tried to tough it out for years with natural therapies and diet, but it was Zoloft that gave me my life back. Then I discovered by accident that if I took a lot of Magnesium every day, I didn't need the Zoloft and was able to wean myself off of it. Made me wonder if I hadn't had a Magnesium deficiency all along. Now I take a lot Magnesium every day and the depression hasn't returned in over 5 years. If you want to try it, get a high absorption type like Magnesium malate or citrate.

Also take lots of Vitamin D3. A simple blood test will tell you if you're deficient in it. Most people in England are deficient. Heck, I live in a sunny desert and was surprised to discover that I was deficient. Bonus: Vitamin D can help prevent the flu! Take at least 5,000 IU of D3 daily, and more if there is flu going around.

UNPLUG THE TV! Just the physical act of watching TV, regardless of the content, causes depression. Something to do with how the light entering the eyes affects brain waves.

I hope this helps. You've given me so much, I'm just wanting to return the favor if I can. Looking forward to your return!

Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

Yes manual labor can do wonders. Earlier a garden was mentioned. The effort used will take you away from your thoughts Mike.

Mega to question one's own existence is to go down the path of the road less traveled, and to take a break to deal with those thoughts shows wisdom. Take the time to remind yourself that there is a lot more out there, and try and refocus on what is truly important to you, to your family, and to the community you live in.

All the best, get well soon.

I know what you mean, he was like www.dollarcollapse.com, only more selective.

I was wondering if some of you could share your (useful non-MSM) newsfeed sites such as the one above.

                              Mega,

Do not forget to pay a visit to your "friends" (of course) that are experts in your famous "whore index," maybe they will cheer you up a bit too, and let us know how is that index doing.

                                Mega,

When I first signed on to itulip, if I remember correctly, you mentioned at one time that you had bouts with downturns in the past, and your comment in your post made me feel confident that you will do what you gotta do -
"I need to get back to the doctor".
The depression hit me hard 13 years ago. I will never forget the feeling that this must be a place that only a very few know about. The last thing I wanted was to surrender to the medication, but I knew I was out of answers and scared to death. What helped me tremendously was the realization that I was not unique nor alone in this.

The road back was long. I don't need the anti dep meds anymore and I continue to practice many of the things already suggested here by others. Daily. The world and all it's people have the power to do me in ONLY if I let it. Knowing what the difference is now, life is so damn much better, despite all the externals. (you know what I mean).

I appreciate your posts and input on this site. See you when you get back.
