Originally posted by sn1p3r View PostI think Alex Jones merely restated what he's read/heard from "their" own plans...I don't really call this news but the fact that a MSM is covering it is pretty newsworthy..thx for the link
The MSM is usually there to sell it after it happened, not to inform the public that it could happen. Although CNN has Lou Dobbs who did talk a lot about NAU/NAFTA stuff
Is Obama Lying About NAFTAGate?
...
It began last week, when Canada’s CTV television network reported that, in early February, a representative of the Obama campaign assured Canadian officials that they need not take Obama’s NAFTA threats seriously, that those threats were just political rhetoric intended to win Midwestern primaries. The campaign, and the Canadian government, initially denied everything. “The Canadian ambassador issued a statement saying that the story was absolutely false,” top Obama adviser Susan Rice said Thursday night on MSNBC. “There had been no such contact. There had been no discussions on NAFTA.” Obama himself, asked about the story the next day, said, “It did not happen.”
But it turned out that there had been contact, and something did indeed happen. Later news reports identified the Obama adviser as Austan Goolsbee, a professor of economics at the University of Chicago who serves as a senior adviser to the Obama campaign. Those reports said Goolsbee met with officials at the Canadian consulate in Chicago, where the NAFTA discussion allegedly took place.

The Czechs are the pariah of the EU, hardly in position to negotiate anything. Canada, well... is there a need to continue?
Also, Alex Jones can read the news, just like any one of us, but the future he can't predict, just like none of us can.
Although he can always claim this is another proof (sic) of NWO, horrible Amero, Bilderbergers plotting against us and whatnot.
I say bring it on. Taxes are trade protectionism, US has too much leverage with USD for it's sovereign benefit. Let's dismantle all that and bring a more level playing field.
That's what free markets are all about, innit?
But let's not get ahead of ourselves here. US and EU have also something to loose here, and as such I don't think this is a done deal by any measure. Maybe in 10 to 20 years, who knows.

All that's happened is another in a long history of Canadian attempts to reduce its overdependence on US markets by making overtures to the Europeans. It happens every single time there is a North American recession. The mental leap to a NAFTA-EU outcome is fantasy writ large.
It also shows how large the political/economic schism is between the resource economies in Western Canada that are looking west to Asia, and the US-market dependent economies of politically dominant Central Canada that keep thinking there's some magic bullet solution by increasing ties with the former Imperial masters across the Atlantic.

Unless one wants to come off as a all caps posting, hyperbole blasting, 'facts are stupid things' type of conspiracy fear-monger, whose idea of a good time is rip off dollars from easily impressionable young men by giving them a constant fear & loathing feed of half-truths, outright lies, a common (invented) enemy and lots of t-shirts and 'documentaries' to buy.
But if one wants to come off as a reasoned person who does his or her own due diligence, arguments without shouting and thinks for oneself then perhaps it's not a good idea to sound like Alex Jones.
Just my 2 cents worth.
And yes, Infowars can be useful for news source aggregation and as an excellent exercise in learning to detect opinions from facts and bullshit from factual news. This is of course, a pure opinion on my part, so you should not trust it, but do your own due diligence on AJ/IW.

Re: I hate to sound like Alex Jones, But
He was able to predict 911 from news reports, I'll give him that.
I'm not sure who said it, I believe it was Ray McGovern who said that even the CIA gets most of it's intelligence from open sources like news papers.

If you count his misses and compare with his hits, the ratio is probably very bad.
I'm not sure how many times he's predicted new false flag operations, new mushroom clouds, bio-weapon attacks and whatnot.
It's like Taleb says, people tend to forget the cemetery full of evidence. All those failed predictions.

Re: I hate to sound like Alex Jones, But
I wasn't going to bite on this as I know the economics-minded community here tires of tangents. But Alex Jones is forced to speculate (yes, sometimes wildly) on information that is almost by definition "classified". If there were a false flag operation coming, would you expect the responsible entities to tell you beforehand? So of course his ratio is going to be bad on this. That doesn't mean there is no benefit on trying to make projections based on current trends.
I also don't see anything incorrect in his websites overall "thesis". A push for global governance (sometimes in secret), falling dollar, eroding civil liberties, rising police state, the notion that vaccines may have side effects, MSM can push propaganda, etc.
I for one am appreciative that Alex Jones is on the beat like an ATTACK DOG for liberty.

Re: I hate to sound like Alex Jones, But
I agree bradzepfan.
When we have prominent politicians and businessmen meeting in the Redwoods and performing rituals in front of an Owl God, you know something aint quite right. I dont care if they are doing absolutely nuthing wrong just drinking highballs and shootn the shit. Good men should not be doing this. Its kinda like Michael Jackson having little boys sleep over, he might have been perfectly innocent, but it still aint right.
Alex Jones has opened alot of eyes to the corruption, secrecy, and nonsense of Left vs Right. I applaud him for that. But whats next? Once the listener GETS IT, whats next? What are we going to do about it and who is gonna have the balls to lead us? That is what I wanna know. Alex Jones doesnt have these answers. Ron Paul? Willie Nelson? Jessee Ventura? We need the military(or some prominent group) to stand up, then we might have a fighting chance.

The other thing, I feel we need, is more prominent alternative media which is very fragmented. This is good because of the variety of voices, but bad because it is still drowned out by mainstream media. We need to get people to shut off the TV, save the newspaper for the toilet, and turn on to news sources like iTulip. I'm hoping that as the Kindle and similar e-paper-like devices become commonplace there will be really very little reason to get your news from the newspaper over a quality website. I'm hoping technology will help more average people consume alternative media.
