I'm emailing the following to my Senators and Representative . . . .

I'm voting AGAINST all incumbents (that means YOU!) unless ALL the following occur . . . and I'm encouraging all my friends and contacts to do the same:

1. Reinstate the Glass-Stegal Act (to prevent banks from engaging in speculative investments)

2. Break up Goldman Sachs and the other Too-Big-To-Fail-Banks.

3. Clawback Big-Bank bonuses.

4. Fire Timothy Geithner.

5. Create legislation to prohibit any former Big-Bank/Wall-Street employees from holding Federal Office related to financial matters.

Do what Ratigan says . . . take 5 minutes and email or call YOUR Congresspersons!
Now is the time when it will actually do some good.

Sadly, you are confusing this country with one with an informed public. You can't bring this stuff up in polite company. People just want to know if they get a job, their stocks go up and their house goes up.

I hope you're right but I believe that the vast majority of the American people are clueless to what's going on. They've been dumbed down and fed a media diet of garbage to the point that they're not a threat.

You really need to get out more.....

The vast majority of American don't even bother to vote (unless it is some sort of 'reality show'). I work with fairly well educated people, OR nurses, techs and the like. The majority, by far, have very little interest in our economy. They have jobs but they don't have a lot of savings; they have virtually zero investments. They watch TV when they get home aand they talk about the TV they watched last night all day. I'm lumping spectator sports in with TV. Americans just want to be entertained. It is too much to ask them to become informed, responsible citizens and voters. Sorry to break the bad news but we are all screwed....

No revolution comes from the masses, even the American Revolution. Your point only highlights how democracy is a myth. The people you described are simply slave strata in the modern era, except they only work for 1/4 of their life to pay their masters in the form of taxes and interest.

Who cares what they think? Their role in society is to serve. The only question is to what end?

I had the same problem. Raja's original link took me to a Rachel Maddow show, and that was on the same day that Raja posted it.

I think the correct link would have the name "Dylan" in it. The URL Raja posted must have just been some temporary kind of headline space that MSNBC uses for the story of the moment before moving to a more permanent archive address. That's my uneducated guess, anyway.

Anyone got the long term link?
