    jury duty anyone?

"In an ominous, one sentence disclosure just filed in Southern District Court of New York, the SEC has advised that it will demand a trial by jury for "all issues so triable." It appears the common man will finally have his say. Woe to ex-CEO Ken Lewis."

I figure that first of all the defense will have much better lawyers than the gubbermint. Then in voir dire they will get excluded any juror with the mental acuity to cut through slick lawyer BS. They will also exclude anyone with a good knowledge of current events, and certainly anyone with any negative feeling about banks. Then they will make their heads spin during the trial so much that they won't know what to think, and ultimately the prosecution will fail.

I would think BOA would be thrilled with trial by jury. The question is, does the SEC realize they are doing them a favor or do they really think a jury trial will be more likely to result in conviction? Or is it just a show to put the SEC in the news for a while and try to make it look like they are doing something to justify their miserable, ineffectual, incompetent existence? Or do they know they are doing BOA a favor AND it lets them put on a show?

It's for real. It's a civil lawsuit over BoA bonuses.

SEC recommends to Judge for a trial by jury.
