    Is there still hope for Obama? Depends if this is just a gesture or a step towards meaningful reform and change.

    A tide of anger and dismay is rippling down K Street as the Obama administration implements a new policy limiting the roles of lobbyists on federal advisory committees.


    The policy change, described by the White House as the next step in President Barack Obama ’s drive to limit influence-peddling in Washington, could affect hundreds of lobbyists who serve on the panels, which were created by Congress in the 1970s to provide private-sector advice to the government.

    Good find.

    Let's hope this is a sign of real change. But the cynic in me says "Mid-terms are coming" and the White House can read public opinion polls, so let's see if the changes stick beyond November of next year, or if the lobbyists successfully lobby on behalf of lobbyists

      Once again, the administration is too narrowly focused on registered lobbyists. They can just simply appoint another industry representative who is not a lobbyist. Instead, there could be more disclosure about the individuals making up the advisory committees.
