China had no interest in Japan. Japan had no resources and was very primitive in ancient times.

True, there were many factors, but hard to imagine a war in an Iraq without oil. It's not like we invaded Yemen. Sooner we rid ourselves of a dependence on the stuff and be rid of that region the better.

The Japanese were successful, which was helped by the Mongols losing up to 75% of their invading troops and supplies both times on the oceans because of huge storms.

After the end of the Warring state period which was like 2200 years ago. The Chinese never had a strong army or military culture like the samurai of Japan.

Had it been the Warring state period, the Qin army at its peak could have defeated any army in the world at that time even if they had all combined.
