    I googled
    "number of U.S. troops overseas"
    First hit was
    "I am a slave 4 U…"Britney Spears… and then
"America now stations 289,000 of its 1.3 million active-duty servicemen and servicewomen abroad."

The military budget > 1 trillion $ per year.

Did GM sink because $ 3,000 of a new car was for health insurance? Of course not.

    In paperback…..
Barbara Tuchman's March of Folly Stephen Kinzer's Overthrow

The former should be a textbook. The latter should be free when you land in Honolulu.

"She (Barbara Tuchman) twice won the Pulitzer Prize for General Non-Fiction, first for "The Guns of August" and again for "Stilwell and the American Experience in China." In 1980 the National Endowment for the Humanities selected Tuchman for the Jefferson Lecture, the U.S. federal government's highest honor for achievement in the humanities. Tuchman's lecture was entitled ""Mankind's Better Moments."

I did not see that hit. I wonder if Google is customizing hits based on a users previous searches .

The date on Amazon.com for this book is December 31, 2025. I hope that's a tad pessimistic .

The website http://www.nationmultimedia.com/worl...llapse-of-2008 states the book was already released, on August 14, 2009.

The website http://www.bookkoob.co.uk/book/1591842638.htm states it will be released in July 2010. Ouch.
