Re: For anyone who keep saying "you can't eat gold"

There is a long tradition of eating gold, amongst the "idle rich" I suppose they might be called, for lack of a better term.

    Rich People Still Eating Gold
    http://www.businessinsider.com/2009/...ll-eating-gold

"Despite the economic meltdown, food made with edible gold is still being served. The Emirates Palace hotel in Abu Dhabi reportedly served 11 pounds of edible gold to its guests in 2008, which could have cost as much as $500,000.
But they're not the only ones with a gilded tooth.

WSJ's Wealth Report blog: [T]he Russians are especially avid consumers of gold, and like to eat it with their caviar and oysters.
Plenty of U.S. restaurants serve up gold to those who like to wear their bling on the inside. A New York chef came up with a $1,000 bagel featuring white truffle cream cheese and goji berry-infused Riesling jelly with golden leaves. An L.A. candy maker sells treats called Holiday Nougat, made with flakes of 23-karat edible gold leaf.

Stephen Bruce, owner of New York ice cream parlor Serendipity3 famously came up with the $25,000 Frozen Haute Chocolate sundae, covered in 23K edible gold-infused whipped cream.

But will people keep eating gold if their money continues to be consumed by the market?"

This is a yearly gold fair in Stockholm in November, currently no info available (check back later this fall if you are interested), but they have had various dishes available with "edible gold" in previous years.

Yup, exactly. Be like Zimbabwe. Good plan!

Gimme a break. If we're in a situation like this, the last thing you're going to want is gold. You're going to want GUNS and lots of them. My .45 will trump your gram of gold every day of the week.

Four Colt LE6920's here, one Bushmaster M4A3, Glock 9mm, S&W FBI 1076 10mm and one Barrett 82A1 BMG 50 and ten Ruger 10/22s.

And about 5k rounds for each one (excpet the 50 cal & 10mm).

Don't for get the ammo too, a .45 without ammo is just an expensive brick.

you don't have to be particularly rich to eat gold and silver. It is commonplace to put paper thin gold foil on candy in india. I have eaten quite a bit of it.

silver foil is more common, but a typical ( paper thin ) gold foil costs about a dollar.

this is a place that sells the stuff:
              http://www.kskvarakh.com/about%20us.htm

              Varakh Facts

A Life-respecting Procedure that has won the respect of
              Animal Rights Groups

According to a feature article in the magazine 'Business India', an astounding 275 tons of silver are beaten annually into foil for sweets and Ayurvedic medicines like Chyavanprash!

That is a whopping 2,75,000 kilograms! (At the present market rate that would cost a phenomenal Rs. 165 Crore or $ 40 million U.S. Dollars).

In India the 275 tons of silver that are beaten annually into varakh utilize intestines of 516,000 cows and calf leather of 17,200 animals each year. Source: www.jainworld.com

Several years ago, as suggested by the animal rights group 'Beauty Without Cruelty', Indian Airlines instructed their caterers to stop the use of varakh on sweets (mithai) served on board their flights. Today, many ask for sweets without varakh, having realized the cruelty involved in its preparation.

'Beauty Without Cruelty' has also commended the Kanishka Varakh for its humanitarian process of production which also produces a varakh of superior quality. A formal endorsement of Kanishka Varakh from many more animal's rights groups are in the offing.

Did you actually watch the video? They broke in and torched his house when he was not at home. What use would your giant ammo stash do except make a bigger fire? Also are you planning on starting a war? What is with the ammo?

                  A) Fire rated safe.

                  B) If you though you couldn't get anymore ammo, ever, how much would you need?

The answer is up to the individual of course, but at least you can see the thought process behind such huge amounts of ammo storage. (Which If I may say, sounds a little "light", 8K per caliber is my preferred hoard).

I'd rather enlist in the army then live in a world where those rules are supreme.

Sorry, but might does not make right and never will.

You are correct, but a Lack of might will never protect you from those that would seek to use their might to rob from you or take away your liberty.

Please go read the story of the Jews in the Warsaw Ghetto.

I think Dr. Faber would disagree with you.
