Re: Michael More New Film
I really enjoyed Michael Moore's film Roger and Me back in the day.
But that was also before I began to develop a sense of the bigger picture.
Failure of complex systems often have multiple contributing factors.....pointing the finger at but one or two of them can be productive, but it can also be used to achieve a particular agenda.
I don't consider Michael Moore to be a documentary film maker......I think of him as more like a cameraman, interviewer, and editor for World Wide "Hot Button Issue" Wrestling.
He's a bit like an arsonist(in that he doesn't START fires)......he finds bonfires, throws as much volatile, combustible, and explosive material on them......and films it for maximum profit.
If he distributed the majority of his film profits to alleviate the suffering of the little guys he supposedly supports I could almost understand the "over zelous and over enthusiastic" manipulation of "facts" he presents to get paying bums in movie theatre seats, somewhat justifying the excessive theatrics.
Otherwise he will always remain a Media War Profiteer in my book.

Re: Michael More New Film
He is a sensationalist and entertainer. His movies uses emotional appeal and straw man arguments to get his point across rather than actual reasoning and nuanced discussions. An orator that obfuscate, regardless of what point of view he is carrying. I remember in bowling for columbine where he took a disabled teenage kid from the shooting to walmart to protest the sale of a gun and ammunition. Great television, but so is American Idol. Yet American Idol does not claim itself to be the game changer on political issues. Also during the elections, he was on tv with ralph nader and went down on his knees and begged the man to not run so that the Obama had a better chance of winning. In Sicko, he took a boat the guantanamo to argue that if these deemed terrorists have full medical coverage, Americans should have the same. They also had water boarding at guantanomo, but he didn't feel that it was important enough to mention that.

Look, I am no big Michael Moore fan but your complaints about him seem silly to me. What? He connects cause and effect in an uncomfortable emotional way for you. If the facts are facts: gun sold at Wal-Mart->kid gets shot, Nader runs->Bush wins, terrorists getting health care->some Americans paying for Terrorist and others to get health but don't have it themselves. What is the problem? I think people are so use to feeling good about bad things (MSM) that they reject someone who maps the correct emotion to what is going on.

Re: Michael More New Film
Because it oversimplifies the issues? So is it that we should never sell guns? It's never the parents fault? Two working parents are always a good thing? Nader is the sole reason Bush won? Nothing happened in Florida? No voter fraud? So I should be a terrorists to get health care? He does not connect cause and effect. He connects the effects with what is most convenient and sensational. Thus the underlying problem still persists and is never resolved.

Michael more will only go as far as it is save
Michael Moore admitted that many of the firefighters that have spoken to him since 9/11 have told him that they heard explosions in the buildings.
Hello? Maybe Mr. Moore could do something about this information ? No... why should he
