I've buffed floors. It's a pretty good job, especially if you can listen to music while working.

It's better than mowing lawns uphill.

I did that as a kid and have hated lawns ever since... and that's not an Irish-biased put down of an English curse ;) (Here in Cali you not only have to cut the damn things, but you have to then immediately water them, encouraging new growth. :mad: )

My first response to the article was "DYOFM" - for all that you own, see how much of it you can maintain just by your lonesome self, instead of contracting it out to mohaditos/mohaditas.

Most of the clowns in the article were most likely so divorced and insulated from day-to-day "ordinary" living that they're now enamored of the "novelty" of having to make their own beds and (*gasp*) scrub, much less refinish, their own floors.

Maybe if they had taken time out from their hectic "masters of the universe" jobs, they could have smelled the grease, fertilizer, or wood shavings.

Maybe instead of devising the best way to destroy the largest productive economy on earth, they could have found diversionary satisfaction in learning such skills as practical plumbing and electrical work, furniture refinishing, electronics and mechanical repair, etc.

OMG. This is without a doubt THE most annoying avatar. I figured after a while it would stop bothering me. I was wrong. Flintlock please please go back to the young boy with the screwdriver.
