The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, trying to ward off potentially sweeping federal emissions regulations, is pushing the Environmental Protection Agency to hold a rare public hearing on the scientific evidence for man-made climate change.

Chamber officials say it would be "the Scopes monkey trial of the 21st century" -- complete with witnesses, cross-examinations and a judge who would rule, essentially, on whether humans are warming the planet to dangerous effect.

"It would be evolution versus creationism," said William Kovacs, the chamber's senior vice president for environment, technology and regulatory affairs. "It would be the science of climate change on trial."

The junk science of AGW ( deemed anthropogenic global warming ) also known as "climate forcing" by the eco-frauds and man-made global warming in plain English, SHOULD be put on trial. For once, the so-called evidence supporting AGW should be critically examined.

The climate models produced by Hansen at NOAA assume that a level of CO2 warms the Earth by a specific amount, then the models are used to generate a temperature change forecast for the world. Then sea levels are supposed to rise in accordance with the AGW forecast by the climate models.

But sea levels are not rising, at least not rising beyond the rate of 6 or 7 inches per century, just as they have risen in 20th Century and apparently in the 19th C. as well. And the warming that the world is experiencing is modest: about 1 degree F. per century, if even that much. Also, the Earth has been warming ever since the Ice Age ended 10,000 years ago.

There is also strong evidence that the Sun's weather governs climate and climate change on Earth. So the whole thesis of AGW and carbon causing climate change on Earth is suspect.

I welcome a trial. Let's look at the evidence for and against so-called "climate forcing" by mankind. I am confident mankind would be acquitted.

And let's bring truly unbiased scientists as witnesses in this trial, not so-called scientists awarded grant money for their pre-arranged findings.:rolleyes:
