Making the jump to the White House. Interesting. Sad to see him go as a blogger, I've always enjoyed his writing and perspective.

But not nearly as sad as this...[even FRED will be gutted at this news]...
Jeremy Clarkson's comments spark speculation over Top Gear's future

Fans fear presenter's closing comments could mean the series will not return

Was last night's episode of Top Gear the final ever? The web was awash with speculation following the show as viewers questioned whether the closing words from presenter Jeremy Clarkson held a hidden message hinting that the programme, beloved of 'petrol heads' everywhere, could be coming to an end.

The final scenes of episode seven in series 13 showed Clarkson taking the new V12 Aston Martin Vantage out for a spin.

As the car was filmed winding through country fields, Clarkson commented on how cars such as the Aston Martin may have had their day in a world where economic pressures and safety concerns are more of a focus than enjoyment and style. The episode closed with the presenter saying: "This feels like an ending."...
...No stranger to controversy, Clarkson has become used to causing headaches for BBC executives...

...The presenter, who previously had to apologise to the prime minister in February after calling him "a one-eyed Scottish idiot", [] was understood to have described Brown as a "[deleted]" in not-for-broadcast comments...

I stopped looking at his blog quite some time ago as he seemed at times to be a cheerleader for the status quo, gives me more time for iTulip and sites that deal more with reality.

I agree with Orion. I am not a finacial genius but reading some of his stuff over the last few years I started to wonder who is he writing for. JUST a gut feeling. GRG55 , I watched Clarkson a few times and was wondering when the plug was going to be pulled. I find "Allo Allo" a much better show for the crowd given the amount of stress in the world. :-)

I didn't watch the last episode, but to me it sounds like he is talking about the meltdown of the City and the whole cap n trade scam.

              Schumacher makes shock F1 return

Michael Schumacher will make a shock return to Formula 1 to replace injured Ferrari driver Felipe Massa.

The seven-time world champion retired at the end of 2006 but will drive at the European Grand Prix on 23 August.

Ferrari said the 40-year-old will stand in for as long as Massa is sidelined by the serious head injuries he sustained in Hungarian Grand Prix qualifying.

When I was watching it last Sunday night, I thought the same when watching the vantage v12 scene, namely: is this the end of the show? That would suck, as it is one of the few shows that I go out of my way to watch.

That said, and in spite of this season having some really funny moments, I am a bit disappointed with this last season overall. I guess they had some budget constraints given the economy, even top gear can't live like it's 2006.

                  And so it goes...
