Anyone notice more stories lately on how "macho" Putin is ?

    Horseback riding bare chested.

    Deep lake diving, etc.

I think he's trying to tell us something. Like, " I'm the kind of macho nut that will kick off a war" just to show you I can. This probably plays well with the Russian people . Medved what is your take on Putin?

The war criminal in Georgia was begging for new weapons recently, I don't know what happened.

"Washington is playing the key role in rearming the Georgian military machine," Grigory Karasin, a deputy foreign minister, said in comments reported Tuesday by the Interfax agency. "It would be in the interests of Georgian democracy ... to refuse to arm this country at all."

South Ossetia's Kokoity echoed Karasin's sentiments, saying countries that arm Georgia "are responsible for any further (military) developments."

The U.S. is discussing a Georgian request for $16 million in military aid this year, with most of the money intended for training and technical assistance. But Washington reacted coolly after Saakashvili told The Washington Post that Georgia was interested in acquiring heavy weapons for defensive purposes.
In an interview Tuesday, Saakashvili said he would urge Biden to speed delivery of antiaircraft and antitank weapons that could deter and slow a Russian attack. He said a U.S. decision not to provide the arms would encourage a Russian invasion.

U.S. and Georgian officials said that the issue was discussed at length during the summit but that Saakashvili did not repeat the request. Biden made no commitment on arms supplies, they said, adding that the Pentagon will continue working to strengthen the Georgian army through training.
