Claiming that people in the oil industry are just like the architects of the tottering global financial system is a bit rich.

I know a lot of folks in the industry. Just like me most are experienced professionals [engineers, geologists and geophysicists] well into middle age and worn out from the "politics of oil". For 3 decades it paid more -tons more - to be a petroleum industry financier than someone who actually found any oil and gas. Now in our carbon-is-a-crime-against-humanity world is it any wonder that most, again like me, are dropping out?

The USA, Canada and European universities have the most advanced petroleum science programs in the world. Graduates this year can't find work. Very shortly I'll be asking "What the hell did you expect"?
