I sense sarcasm and you're reading too much into my post if you think it was an attack against the headline.

They should rename this the toonie store. ;)

Disney raises prices 6.5%, Wine up 20%

          http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/32269806/ns/travel-family/

5.3% for adults and 7.9% for kids.

And yesterday, when I shopped at Trader Joe's, the bottle of Black Mountain Wine (a staple in the wine world of SoCal) went from 4.99 to 5.99.

But who needs entertainment and alcohol??

What I really want to know is WTH is going on with my Folger's price? Who cares about Disney if you can't afford coffee?

Early stages of the supply crash induced inflation.

At the risk of sounding like a smart-ass (my wife says I am but what does she know? :p), methinks the blue cylinders contain Helium. Oxygen cylinders are painted green, and I think Acetylene came in maroon cylinders.

Used a set of OxyCetylene torches quite a lot back in the 1970s when I operated a grain farm for my family.
Color codes could be different now, however.

I knew inflation would be coming eventually. Granted, I thought it would be a little later than some but I still had a good idea it was coming. Even so, I got a pit in my stomach when I saw coffee had doubled. I hate to see what my initial reaction will be when other food prices soon follow. It's one thing to know it's coming, a completely different thing when you actually see it.

                        Re: Inflation? What inflation?

My wife is an absolute fanatic about getting the best deal on almost anything she buys, even if it means driving 10 miles out of your way to save a dime. I avoid dollar and discount stores like the swine flu, lest I find myself sitting in the car for an hour while she inspects the prices of everything we might need in the next decade.

She reports the the prices of many things appear to be stable, but the sizes of items seems to be decreasing. Pasta which used to come in 16oz bags now comes in 12oz. Soap sizes decreased from 13oz to 10oz, and anything that is petroleum based is coming in smaller sizes.

Maybe this is what they mean by deflation.
