Seems like a seamless fit to me. It's been quite a presidential run since FDR.

2016 could be quite a face-off between Sara Palin and Michelle Obama's arms.

Take-out the God crap from her writing and x-out the not too subtle American nationalism, and I rather like what she has to say, at least on energy policy. Her energy policy and economic policy would work; Obama's won't work.

She got to cement the "God Slot" into any address, but with that base secure she can push on to other things.

                Hey, just thought:-

Actually I agree with what she has to say. I'll admit she was put on a national stage before she was ready. But I will take her domestic policy over Barry's any day. Besides she's a gun toting moose hunting Alaskan. Given a choice between her and a Chicago socialist, she wins hands down. What is it about Palin that gets Liberals all riled up??

I can't speak for liberals, but IMO I don't think she's fit for office because she lacks intelligence and experience . . . and attempts to cover it up by pretending that she does have those qualities.

I think what it is about Sarah Palin that gets leftists like me upset is the code she sends to the religious-right. And what I do NOT like about the religious-right in the USA is that the religious-right has made religious beliefs a test for holding public office.

One of the BEST things about America and Canada (outside Quebec) is that religion and government are SEPARATE.

Right from the founding of America, George Washington and the other founders insisted upon strict separation of church and state. So religious belief has never been a test for public office--- at least up until 1980. But everything changed with the election of Republicans starting around the time of Ronald Reagan. And the mixing of religious belief about fetuses and about stem cells and about God and about what God blesses all became part of a grand test for holding public office, and especially with the campaign and election of George Bush Jr...... That was scary.

So now in almost every sentence Sarah Palin utters, she mixes her religious beliefs with politics. That is the code telegraphed by Sarah to her supporters, especially in the South and the lower Midwestern states of America; these are the states where the Bible once again rules-over politics and where Sarah's base of support is.

After seeing the profound damage the Christian-right has done to the U.S. under George Bush, I do NOT want that bunch ever returning to govern America.

And I do not want teachers to be bullied the way they were under the rule of the Christian-right in America. I do NOT want God crap and phonics and English-only, standardized timed-testing and their nationalistic curriculum ever-again to be shoved-down kids' throats in public schools.

So, I am not sold on Sarah.

Personally I believe you iTullip people should host a debate on climate change between Prince Charles and Sarah Palin - following iTullip's climate change thread, I believe these two would be ideal to bridge the impasse.

The best of the United Kindom vs. the best of America - battle of the Atlantic.

And obamas qualifications are....he is more educated granted. But he has never ran a business or a budget(which is obvious).

I'm not saying she should be president. But the race for president has turned into a popularity contest based on money and hype. Obama is a figure head, can't speak without a telepropmt. He's just a point man for the lefts agenda.Of course a lot of big wall street banks gave him money, wonder why?

The two part system has been corrupted by people with money. They play both sides of the street.

I just find that I associate more with her values than anyone on the left.

Also, why does religion scare people so much? The left have a religion too. It is the worship of self indulgence. This nation was founded by god fearing christian men. No one wants the establishment of religous morals upon anyone. But the left has tried to force their agnostic agenda on the country. Why does tommy have two daddies etc. In many ways the religion of the left is more dangerous than the right wing christians.

That sounds about right to me. I would also add misinformed and slightly corrupt to the list. It is impossible for me to take someone seriously that thinks evolution doesn't happen and that homosexuality should be criminalized.

Also, she puts her foot in her mouth enough to make her an easy target.

That being said I admit to voting for her, not everyone is so easily polarized. Unfortunately she has been completely ineffective as governor since the presidential campaign.
