Damn, I was going with a prophetic cow of some sort; the bovine oracle. Nope.

Now all we need is a picture of a python eating a cow and the circle will be complete. ;)

I don't have a damn thing of substance to add. I just thought it would be fun to have this thread title appear today.

Sometimes, the big guy upstairs knows you are down, so he takes pity on you and cuts you a break. I've been amazed at the people that thought that the gold market was finished, for each of the last 6 years, I've talk until I'm blue in the face and out of breath on what was going on. It's good to know that every once in a while, people listen and reflect on what I've said (and hopefully, to their own benefit).

Thanks rjwjr, yes indeed. It's good to be right sometimes, and have others recognize it.

I don't think we'll see a price under $1000 until after this economic event is over in a few years.

When oil dropped to $66 and oil to $910 during the third week of September, it was the last great window of opportunity.

Not me - but then I try to eliminate all emotion from my investing/speculating regardless of whether I am making or losing money. I try to remain objective.

Ideally, I would like to have the temperament of Andy Hall of Phibro. A trader once told me the guy had "ice in his veins". That's how I'd like to be.

Maybe you don't need ice in your veins, but merely a fancy bracelet. Yep, there's a product for that... it's called the Phillips "EmoBracelet". Perfect for day traders who want to have more control of their emotions ... or overjoyous gold bugs When it senses that your emotions are going out of control, it sends 10,000 volts of juice right up your arm and into your brain(!!)
(kidding, but the bracelet is real).

All well and good, but if you ain't stopping and smelling the roses when one of your non-emotional, objective decisions hits pay dirt, then you are missing-out. Reward yourself once in awhile for being so focused.

I feel great today and all I did was find iTulip and act on EJ's advice. I'm a genius!

Day-trading, that's not for me. Its for people who like to wind up as nervous wrecks by the age of 35.

I'm still here, so I must have got the religion somehow, but I bought in at 1140 and I'm down more than 2%. Congrats to you for having the cash to buy in early.

I just want to remind you that gold did indeed get "killed" in going from 1200 to 1080. A ~ 10% drop. did you tell people to buy in at 1200?
