Frankly, I'm not surprised that you don't think there is any problem. Muslims in many countries don't think there is any problem with women wearing burqas, and if you ask the women they seem to consider it necessary for modesty and not oppression.
FWIW, I am not Han Chinese, and I used to indulge in the same western-centric cultural superiority that you manifest so clearly. However, I have spent much of my life becoming educated first-hand, and the result is not the pusillanimous moral equivalence that you seem to think is the only alternative (and which you defend inconsistantly). People lurch between the extremes of blanket cultural superiority and moral relativism because they are too lazy to build the base of experience necessary for good judgment, and being able to make snap arbitrary judgments makes them feel in control.

I have observed anecdotal misogyny here in America no different from China. However, the question is about overall culture. I note that Han Chinese produce many completely self-made multi-millionaire and billionaire women, while American corporate culture cannot even tolerate female CEOs who don't even have major ownership stake. Just look at the overt and nasty misogyny that was on display regarding Carly Fiorina at HP, and then look at the long litany of Han Chinese female business tycoons. No other culture on earth can compare. Europe and America never produce female business tycoons like this, and it has a great deal to do with paternalistic bias -- whereas in China, money and results talk. I don't have time to go into details, but these extend to Taiwan, Macau, as well as examples of billionaires in mainland China like Yan Huiyan and Zhang Yin.

There is frustration and genuine protests against Chinese rule, but don't confuse it with terrorism. This is a cleverly planned militant operation by fundamentalists.

I wouldn't care if you are a space alien. This is the internet, who knows what you are behind the keyboard. You are the one who brought up moral relativism and womens rights without considering that your argument might apply equally to the Chinese. The same ideas you use to justify the Chinese position can be used to justify the Uighur violent resistance to it.

Also, you are the one who asserted that han culture is superior, or at least it is in your opinion. By disagreeing with you I make no claim about western culture.

        I do love this quote:

I think this has become one of my favorites so far today. It describes the CPC so well I might have to remember it for later.

The situation has taken a disturbing and bizarre turn:
One witness, speaking to the Cable News Network, alleged that ethnic Uyghurs have been stabbing members of the Han community with hypodermic needles since early August. Police have arrested 15 people suspected of being involved in the attacks, the official Xinhua News Agency said.

            Interesting discussion.

I wonder how many hours (minutes?) we would allow our capital city to be shut down by demonstrations with busses overturned and roads/commerce blocked before armed force was used?

Oh, but the imagery of a guy stopping a tank, however briefly, remains embedded. What happened there was the beginnings of a nascent revolution. Countries tend to take a dim view of those things. None of that excuses the degree of force involved but that was a result of the Chinese letting a peaceful demonstration devolve for weeks.
