OKLAHOMA CITY – A man in Oklahoma City said he was attacked for his bologna and cheese sandwich. Police say 24-year-old Roger Hamilton told them he was sitting on a bus station bench Wednesday, about to put mayonnaise on his sandwich, when another man began staring at him.

Hamilton told police that the man then punched him in the mouth and grabbed his sandwich and left.

Police said Hamilton has a swollen lip and his face was covered in blood. The police report listed the value of the sandwich at 76 cents.

Police have not found the attacker.

Man, Oklahoma is an awesome place for all the great stories it brings to the national press. I'm so glad I live here for that reason

Personal story: a girl I know was recently fired from the convenience store she works at because she was robbed at gunpoint and had too much cash in the register. So the unemployment number is at least +1 to whatever reports were released last week or before then.

Muggers attack elderly woman in SE Calgary

          Calgary Herald
          June 18, 2009

CALGARY - Investigators are looking for two suspects who attacked and mugged a 92-year-old woman at a southeast Calgary shopping mall this morning.

Witnesses saw two women approach the victim in the parking lot on the east side of Southcentre mall at about 9:30 a.m. and try to wrestle her purse from her.

Police said the victim had the strap of her purse wrapped around her wrist — a common technique to foil purse snatchers — which prompted a brief struggle.

“They decided to punch and kick her,” duty inspector Rob Williams said.

The women sped off in a small blue car, leaving the victim on the ground, bleeding and in pain.

“It’s pretty disgusting if you ask me,” said Dayna Mortensen, one of several people who ran to the woman’s aid.

Paramedics took the woman to hospital with a gash on her head and a possible injury to her hip or pelvis.

Police, meanwhile, flooded the surrounding area looking for the suspect vehicle and the woman, who are both in their 20s...
