Re: America grow a pair of BALLS!
america still thinks they'll be giving up something in a revolt I guess, they still must think the leadership is servicing them in some way. There needs to be enough talk about a wrong direction so that those who think it is the wrong direction don't feel in the minority. otherwise self preservation will keep these people inactive. get talking everyone!

Re: America grow a pair of BALLS!
Where are you America?
- Still believing that the system itself it's fine and that the other of the two mainstream political parties is 100% of the problem. (largest group by far)
- Haven't trusted government and politicians for years and getting by just fine (another small group)
- Politically and socially active (volunteerism and what not) but not from a party team angle. (a very small group)
You'll recall that a small group of Americans took up the European style protests against the IMF, the World Bank and other Washington/Wall Street/London globalization scams in various cities, before 9/11. They were either ignored by the mainstream media and Americans or disregarded as Anti-American nutjobs.
You see the people that craft the messages are able to manipulate most Americans into believing that the Washington/Wall Street shenanigans are pure and just Americana along the lines of General Washington.

Yea right Mega. Just what the world needs at this time _ a rogue super power. That would be fun for everybody now wouldn't it? America cannot grow something that it already has, it just has'm tucked away. Don't think for a moment that Americans are complacent. But, if and when the time comes for us to expose our steelies, then you should probably seek shelter from the storm.

Re: America grow a pair of BALLS!
IMHO, the reason Americans aren't taking to the Streets is because:
a) Everyone was in on the fraud here - do you know anyone in the US who DIDN'T get a cheap loan for a house, car, credit card, vacation home etc.? The people who should be pissed are our creditors - we bought all these hard assets for the cost of worthless paper - we're not protesting b/c we're ALL in on the scam!!! Most everyone in the US is "inside the tent, pissing out."
b) Only those that didn't participate in & benefit from the ponzi scheme (the poorest) have reason to protest. But with 1 in 9 Americans on food stamps (latest data from March, it's probably more like 1 in 8 now), they aren't going to bite the hand that (literally) feeds them.
Lastly - Americans bought ~1.5B rounds of small arms ammo in December 2008 (latest data I saw). By way of reference, US troops in WW2 consumed 2.5B rounds of small arms ammo every YEAR...9mm & .223 (the kind used in some assault rifles) ammo is exceedingly scarce in the US right now. While the media keeps talking about these ammo shortages as being due exclusively to fear of increased regulation by the Obama Admin/Democratic Congress, I'm not so sure an increasing part of it isn't because an increasing number of informed & educated Americans understand that the structural issues the US has to work through aren't going to be worked through without the gnashing of teeth & wringing of hands or worse, & want to make sure their families/interests, etc. are protected just in case, just MHO.

Re: America grow a pair of BALLS!
America is taking to the streets - the tax day protests are an indication. We just don't have watershed moments like an election that is truly stolen to give rise to such an occasion.
How does one get angry about the slow, slow, slow dissolution of one's rights, liberties, and property? Angry doesn't work that way. Just ask the nut that brought a gun into the Holocast museum last week. It took years for the his perception of reality to push him over the edge.
I love the market ticker site. I think that some of the articles in the past have really nailed it in terms of placing blame where it properly belongs. They've all but laid the case for revolution there; at a minimum, the indictment of more than half of our political and financial leadership....
But I don't think you'll see the kind of protest like in Iran - it's not a matter of balls, it's a matter of whether you have any other means of addressing these usurpations of (your wealth, your vote, fill in the blank).
We still basically have our vote in this country. It may mean less, or be less effective in effecting change, but it's still there.
On that note - I do think that you'll see the votes of independents in the US be fought for with great ferocity in 2010.

Re: America grow a pair of BALLS!
Vote? Vote for who? it's all one party just with a different name and a different way of spending taxes. Obama - "Change we can believe in" yes, right, all that's changed is the illusion. Most of Congress have there own corporate paid agendas to fulfill for getting election finances, seats on board of director chairs when their political careers are over. The only way to get real change for the better will be with show of force at Washington and Congress - 25+million unemployed with pitchforks would do the trick. As Denniger said "Stop the Bezel" .

Re: America grow a pair of BALLS!
This is a soul searching post, and as I may have been a bit defensive with it at first, everyone has the right to this question/statement. Who in this financial world has not been effected by a global dollar? Civilizations round the world have had more control of their money destinies with dollars as it's vehicle. It's been good for everyone, especially Americans, but parties over, time to get outta da pool.
As the Tehran crises unfolded mega's thought had also crossed my mind... until I remembered the math on Americans killed in the Civil War verses how many died in both World Wars combined *pause for concern* I will state it again, an unstable USA is not in the worlds best interest.
Somehow we must get past all fiat money systems. Want to see a real revolution? Step into the world of reaL money. I suspect if there were to be a reaL money movement that all hell would be unleashed against it. Then you would really have to "grow a pair of BALLS".
Meanwhile, it's just easier to stay in bed with status quo pulled over your head.
Peace Out!
