My friend, you don't understand theocracy. The terror reigns. Read Savonarola.

sorry, should not have mixed the question with my response. was only curious. welcome, either way.
The Western MSM has been way off on Iran for just about ever. In the run up to these recent elections there would be coverage of a rally for Mousavi with 100,000 people, presenting it as a great sign of change. Yet there would be no coverage of the rally for Ahmadinejad that drew 600,000 the very same day.

Western media and think tanks have a tendency to choose the easy interlocutors from foreign cultures, the already westernized individuals who speak English and often want to serve as agents of westernization in their own countries. So what they get is a very skewed elitist vision of how things really are. These are the same people that have video cameras, computers and internet access.

In Iran Ahmadinejad has been to every corner of Iran several times over the past four years. He is very popular not so much because of his anti-Western rhetoric, but because of his pro-Iranian rhetoric. You would be hard pressed to find a people prouder of their cultural heritage. In this respect the West plays right into his hands with every insult or perceived insult that emerges regarding Iran.
