Wonder how many slaves it took to build it?

      Re: Dubai gold center

When I was in Silicon Valley, if we saw a company put up a new fancy headquarters, we figured they were at risk for a downsizing. Dubai has already seen this over the last year, as an absolutely awesome amount of new construction to world class standards has gone half finished and unused. I can't help but wonder if this building is a sign of a pending decline in the gold market.

So are you asking if your voo-doo, gut feel, contrarian indicator system is going to be more accurate than the iTulip gold thesis and prediction?! You know better than that.

I don't know much of anything. But things have been getting mighty weird lately. None of us, not even EJ, is going to call all that's coming correctly.

So I keep my mind open for contrary indicators and missed clues.

P.S. -- the fancy new corporate headquarters building was not always a sign of imminent doom. For example, Google has survived ok after taking its nice headquarters building in Mountain View a few years ago.
