The phrase so and so went "khalf shams" (behind the sun) is well known in these parts, meaning he's never seen again. The ruling Nahyan family are great pals with the US administration. It's very rare to see something like this being made public.

One thing the emiratis are deeply sensitive about is bad publicity. I hope this gets a lot of airtime. That was the only reason they had replaced 5 year old child slaves bought in from South Asia with robot camel jockies.
The Emirates will investigate a member of its ruling family over videotapes showing the sheik torturing another man, the country's official news agency reported. The move will be the first of its kind in the federation, where ruling families have remained untouchable and beyond reproach. Although the investigation hasn't started, it could deeply embarrass this U.S. ally that promotes itself as a pro-Western nation catering to business travelers and tourists.
Torture allegations against Sheik Issa bin Zayed Al Nahyan first surfaced a year ago when his former business associate, Texas businessman Bassem Nabulsi, filed a lawsuit in the U.S. against the sheik.
Nabulsi's lawyers at the time showed The Associated Press still images from one of three videos, which appeared to show Issa sodomizing a man with a cattle prod. Other photos showed Issa beating the man with a wooden plank and firing an automatic weapon into the sand around him.
Some parts of the videos have since aired on television stations and appeared on the Internet.
Lawyers for Nabulsi have said the videos also show the victim's genitals being lit on fire. The victim is believed to be a man whom the sheik felt had overcharged him in a grain deal, Nabulsi's lawyers said.
