Re: While Clinton Offers a Resume, Warren Offers a Plan

I'm calling the nominees of both parties:

It'll be Al Gore vs. Marco Rubio.

    What are your thoughts?

P.S. Jim Webb would be the best for the Democrats.

Hillary Clinton was asked about her accomplishments as Secretary of State:

“My accomplishments as Secretary of State? Well, I'm glad you asked! My proudest accomplishment in which I take the most pride, mostly because of the opposition it faced early on, you know… the remnants of prior situations and mindsets that were too narrowly focused in a manner whereby they may have overlooked the bigger picture and we didn’t do that and I’m proud of that. Very proud. I would say that’s a major accomplishment.”

          - Hillary Clinton 11 March 2015

Could someone please tell me what the hell she just said? This may be our next President

I'm no fan of Hillary, but let's at least be accurate in reasons for opposing her.

              From Snopes:

"Claim: Statement reproduces Hillary Clinton's response when asked to identify her major accomplishments as Secretary of State.

              FALSE"
              http://www.snopes.com/politics/clint...hievements.asp

To be fair, the Snopes post addresses claims she said that on March 11, 2014, so for all I know maybe she did say it on March 11, 2015.

You are correct. I needed to double check as such an answer as cited would strain credibility.

Here is what happened according to Forbes:

                http://www.forbes.com/sites/davidade...tary-of-state/

                The New Yorker:

It seems like Warren, who stated business owners "didn't build that", didn't really build anything either. She just flipped for profit, taking advantage of the poor.

She also represented and was paid well by the same corporations she now speaks against:

5 minutes searching on the internet: [on first page of search: rumor elizabeth warren flipped homes]

this misinformation, or perhaps "disinformation," story actually dates to the scott brown campaign. it was recently revived in the national review, a well-known source of objective reporting. [/sarcasm]

how about we stop posting links to left OR right wing, politically motivated blogs? they're usually bs.

btw, vt- this is at least the 2nd time i've called you out for doing this. the last time you kind of apologized and acknowledged you hadn't really checked the info at the link you posted. at least take the time to check the timeliness and accuracy of the info you post, please. and the more political the source, the more checking is warranted before presenting it here as "information" [as opposed to propaganda].

The Washington Post and Boston Herald are not right wing and cite the same thing:

                        http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/...pjDV_blog.html

Most of the mainly liberal press does not print anything negative about a Democrat and Fox and other right wing sources don't speak everything about Republicans.

But when a key leader on any side is caught being hypocritical that should be called out.

You know I've consistently said both sides are corrupt and we need to replace them.

We are not getting journalism from traditional sources; instead we get propaganda. We need more journalists:

I finally got around to reading these two links after JK "called you out" downthread.

I think phrasing it as "according to Forbes" is misleading. More like "according to an op/ed piece" in Forbes.

The New Yorker article you link to was much more positive towards Hillary:

"The fact that Hillary didn’t bring peace to Palestine, or redefine the relationship between the United States and China, doesn’t mean she was a failure. Far from it. In carrying out the task she was allotted, she was a big success. It’s just that the nature of her job was very different from the ones that Acheson and Kissinger held. In reality, she wasn’t directing American foreign policy, or anything close. At times, she wasn’t even the Administration’s chief troubleshooter—a niche occupied by a series of special envoys: Richard Holbrooke, George Mitchell, and Dennis Ross. The post she really had was that of U.S. Ambassador to the world, and she made a pretty good fist of it."

Maybe I'll vote for her after all.

Of course it didn't have legs. The mostly liberal press buried it!

Both sides lie and cover up. I've lived in the D.C. all my life. I understand how all this operate.

I don't agree with 100% of her (liberal) views, but I think her heart and motivations are in the right place.
