Not so much one was right and the other wrong but that the two approaches of control are employed (1) domestically - the pleasure trap - and (2) abroad - the no-fly zones.

There does not exist an explicit censorship such that orwell mentions, but an implicit censorship through which conformity is the purpose. This is directly related to those who own the media and the social engineering they propagate.
