I am fairly newbie in PM's and a small timer , but for the life of me I cant figure out why everyone continues to relate Gold to the bonar. The Gold, crude oil , bonar relationship is changing before our eyes. Exactly how I dont really know ,but it is changing. JMHO
I don't know how it's bad or good. I don't have a crystal ball. Maybe that silver will appreciate. If it doesn't you can melt it down and make a nice silverwear set. I view silver as a liquidity play. I don't think it will do well as we enter a downturn and housing prices put a crimp on US consumption. CPI growth is falling fast, and commodities, while high, aren't appreciating as fast as they used to. Looks like a classic blow off top to me. But whom am I to know; my predictions are worthless. The market will decide who is right.

      from richard russell today, fwiw:

Personally, I prefer not to.

Taking a position against the dollar seems too obvious, too logical, too easy. And the industry is making it easy to bet against the dollar. You can buy CDs in 18 foreign currencies at EverBank (www.everbank.com), You can invest in euros, through a Euro Currency Trust, an Exchange Traded Fund with the symbol FXE. Or you can buy the Rydex Weakening Dollar Fund which bets against the dollar with a basket of six foreign currencies (RYWDX).

      but he adds

Gold is a bet against the dollar and a bet against all fiat currencies. That's enough for me.
