Bernanke's appointment runs to Jan 2014, if I recall correctly. Would Romney ask him to step down? Can he ask that,given the supposed independence of the Fed? Would Bernanke accede to such a demand? Or would they agree to a slightly tighter monetary policy and keep Bernanke through to the end of his term?
