  • Tools of the Trade: A Very Thick Skin, Lawyers and Wordsmiths.

    Someone called me a bottom feeder today; it made my day!

    I will tell you why it made my day, but most of all I will tell you how is it that you get wealthy.

    1. Have integrity. Why? Because your reputation is all you have, if you can make it happen, you can make it happen. People will always look up to you to solve their problems.
    2. Pick a good team of lawyers and wordsmiths, if you can’t tell the difference you are in the wrong business.
    3. You can make the world yours. The only obstacle is that you must believe it.

    Someone else also mentioned to me that my mantra of “Hold cash for buying opportunities” is naïve.

    Well, let me tell you the great secret. The secret is that everything in the world is negotiable, everything. The only obstacle is that you must believe it.

    If you hold cash, Gold, Treasuries or anything highly liquid, you can buy assets at a superb discount. The “fund” manager that called me a bottom feeder this morning was not happy with my counter offer of $7 USD per $100 USD of claimed value. That was ok, she let the assets go for a mere $15 USD per $100 of claimed value.

    So yes, we are bottom feeders. Very happy bottom feeders.

    and things are a way more negotiable if you got something to negotiate with.
