    Re: Is the Fed Deflating?

    Lukester,

I am amused by your reply, typically I would have been annoyed since I value my time and tend not to waste it prodigiously. Nevertheless, I will reply to you the following:

Take what I write with a grain of salt, use what you can and discard the rest. And what I mean by a grain of salt is this: if you put a grain of salt on your tongue you can discern the flavor. However, if you put too much salt, all nuance of flavor is lost.

Now, if my replies are not to your liking, your expectations, or your standards, by all means, feel free to ignore me. I have come to the conclusion that I am not inclined to exercise my pedagogical skills nor give it the time it is require to elucidate neophytes.

I will not address the political aspects of your comments or anything further.

My best regards and be well,

    -Sapiens

      Sapiens -

<< I am not inclined to exercise my pedagogical skills nor give it the time it is require to elucidate neophytes. >>

If I may suggest it, using a few less of the two-dollar words, and answering simple questions directly on topic, your commentary might gain immeasurably in substance and tautness. You'd also win me for a believer in some of your many interesting ideas, rather than merely sending up smoke. Mark Twain could offer you some great style tips for getting a clear message across.

"Elucidate neophytes" - Curious term. Please note, you cannot "elucidate" a neophyte. This is like saying "I don't clarify the students in my class". The term "elucidate" means "to clarify" [ as in clarify a point or an issue ] not "to instruct".

It's much safer, to avoid the pitfalls of grammar and vocabulary, to say instead "I don't wish to spend time instructing beginners". One dollar words are "more-better" than two dollar words, and do a great job of conveying meaning.

Someone here was conjecturing that you cannot disclose much of your identity as you are a contributor here who hails from some lofty position in professional or indeed public life? Indeed this may be so, but "irreverent" and "inquisitive" are my middle names.

As observed previously by another sorely perplexed reader on this website trying to decipher your heiroglyphs, your commentary, with it's persistently opaque retreats whenever you are presented with very simple questions, leaves one wondering if your "great sagacity" employs such oblique replies to the people you report to professionally at work as well?

What form does your more functional business conversation take, when clarity and brevity are required rather than didactic expansiveness? I'd imagine the ability to deliver plain yes or no answers in that environment would be "priceless".
