I'm beginning this thread because of one c1ue began in which his apparent intent is to share some, I presume, of his investment actions.

Personally, I find it interesting to know how some other people are invested. Why they are positioned as they may be? I appreciate c1ue's willingness to put forth what he does.
I also wonder when crossing one post or another here on iTulip when individuals appear to be espousing one theme or another, if they are throwing out an idea to see what sort of feedback it elicits, or do they have their money where their mouths are?
From time to time, EJ asks iTulipers for suggestions for questions that he might put to one "expert" or another. Were I talking to an expert, or Jose Seis-Dos Equis, about investing and could get truthful answers, I would ask two questions:
1. In what are you invested in percentages for positions?
2. What rationale do you have for each investment?
Assuming I am a truth-teller and my data in my spread sheets are correct, I'll put up a bit about my track record.
As of 10/19/07 since 12/31/87 the most trackable accounts, my IRA's, have compounded at 4.67339%.
Since the highest value of all my accounts on 1/3/2000, my compounded annual return is -1.63%.
My one year return is 10.41%.
My two year return is 9.34% compounded.
My three year return is 12.64% compounded.
Currently my positions are:
Cash in US Bonars: 54.59%
Long positively correlated positions (Precious Metals): 5.70%
CEF 0.67%
GLD 1.43%
SLV 2.53%
GTU 1.07%
Long negatively correlated positions: 9.69%
DXD 1.80% -200% DJI
QID 1.55% " NDX
SDS 2.03% " SPX
TWM 2.07% " RUT
SRS 0.90% " DJ US REAL ESTATE
RRPIX 1.34% -125% 30YR BOND
Long Foreign Currency.
FXY 9.85%
Long hedged mutual fund.
HSGFX 20.16%
If I haven't made an error, those should add up to 100% of my liquid investments which make up approximately 83% of my net worth.
On 10/11/07 I liquidated a position in GDX which was then about a 1.9% allocation.
On 10/19/07 I liquidated a position in XLE which was then about a 1.03% allocation.
