Economist Nouriel Roubini is called Dr. Doom because he keeps predicting global financial apocalypse.
But while he’s waiting, it turns out, he’s doing his best to have a little fun: The parties at his $5.5 million Manhattan penthouse have become legendary, not least for the ratio of sweet young things to wrinkly old.
The models who are his guests “love my beautiful mind,” the 55-year-old, who has described himself as a “rock star among geeks, wonks, and nerds,” told New York Magazine.
What makes a good party? “Fun people and beautiful girls. I look for 10 girls to one guy.”
But now the neighbours are jealous, or annoyed: The New York Post says that after complaints the city has ordered him to demolish his rooftop 10-person hot tub, bar, party room and deck.
Roubini, however, vows the hot tub will back “in the next three months,” according to NY Mag’s Kevin Roose.
“I’m getting all the permits,” Roubini told Roose from his apartment this week, where he was hosting an event for Jack Hidary, a tech multimillionaire self-funding a long-shot campaign for mayor of New York.
