  • Occupy Wall Street - Sept. 17th?

This just came to my attention. They are telling people to bring tents. It's leaderless - supposedly - and people are holding logistics meetings.

I don't know if it will go anywhere, but I was somewhat surprised how much activity there was when I started googling around.

Remember the Fed. Reserve flash mob event posted on the 'tulip. Only one guy attended, with his kid in a stroller. There was a cop every 15 feet around the building

Yup. I figured it's an interesting thing of which to take note at this point, but that's about it. We shall see if any momentum builds.

It is something to note and track. Food remains too cheap as this point in time.

Don't mean to hijack this thread, but don's point is spot on. My American friend who owns a restaurant said he can't get local farmers to grow garlic even though he's willing to contract for a monthly amount. This came up after I was complaining about the crappy quality and high price of garlic in the chain groceries. (2.95 $ per pound) My friend said, "All the garlic in the stores comes from China."

Two days back in Thailand. There's a new box store a mile from our house, Macro, sells in bulk. Outside, they had 25 pounds bags of fresh garlic for 9.00 $. which is 36 cents a pound. Blows my mind that garlic is being imported to Thailand.
